Listening for IELTS will ready you for the IELTS Listening test when you first take the exam or re-sit the exam. It was written for students with band scores 5-5.5 who are seeking to reach a 6 and higher band score. Part 1: presents the thematic vocabulary. A series of tests gives you the opportunity to use the vocabulary in a number of ways-simply and efficiently. These exercises also construct pattern awareness in words and linguistic items. The terminology is defined using meanings from the Collins COBUILD dictionary.
Part 2: offers step-by-step instructions and instruction on the different types of questions that appear in the exam. Every unit covers one portion of the exam and concentrates on three types of questions. Interpretations and examples are available to show you how to answer each form of a question. Highlight helpful tips to help you develop effective techniques for test-taking.
Part 3: provides questions on the application of the review for the same section of the test for which you implemented in Part 2. Using the same type of question. The format is accompanied by the test itself. This will be used as a means to determine your ability to take the final test.
An answer key For all parts of the book, providing notes on why those responses are correct or incorrect, a detailed answer key is given. At the back of the book you can even find detailed audio descriptions of all the listening activities. The answers are outlined in the audio texts so you can see in the audio where the right answers came from.
