IELTS Preparation and Practice Reading and Writing for General Training

This book contains five major parts. Each section looks at a separate part of the reading and writing tests for the IELTS General learning strategy. There's a demonstration at the beginning of each chapter to show you how a skilled English reader and writer would answer the questions easily and with confidence. Instead of trying to answer the Demonstration questions on your own, you should follow the steps set out in the How to Answer section carefully. This will allow you to develop a comprehension of the most efficient sampling strategies. The section on Analysis and Practice comes after the Demonstration and it is here that the Demonstration abilities and techniques will be explained fully. You will have the chance to practice what you have understood in various activities; and since working effectively in a limited time is very essential in tests, each activity has a Time target. The Time target provides you a recommended time limit for the activity to complete. Read the directions for each activity and check your replies in the Answer Key at the back of the book when you've completed it. There are also Practice Reading and Writing tests for you to try once all of the tasks have been finished.On page 155 there is a sample Reading answer sheet for you to photocopy and use each time you do a Reading Practice Test. The Answer Key also includes the answers to those tests.
